The REDO Technology meets all of the strict legal requirements for water treatment in public and private swimming pools in Germany (and many other countries). The technology has been awarded the 2004 National Innovation Award of the German Federal Ministry of Economics (Bundesinnovationspreis).
These key advantages are based, among other factors, that a mix of several disinfecting agents is used. Different disinfecting agents address different efficacy spectra and activity patterns overtime. Compared to conventional chlorination REDO Technology has an optimized disinfection effect even with "difficult" germs, and, at the same time, the individual components require very low doses of disinfection solution. This results in fundamental advantages of the REDO technology, such as the almost none existing disinfection by-products and safety of the process.
